What's your most memorable scene of Season 2?

You can expect spoilers for the entire first two seasons in the comments.

(There's no expiration date on these questions, so if you're reading this post months later and feel like jumping in, please do.)

Since you said "most memorable" and not "favourite," this one is a no-brainer for me (and I'd be shocked if at least half the comm didn't have the same answer, so let me be the first to say it): the roleplay scene in "Behind the Red Door."

It's the most memorable scene in season two, the most memorable scene from the series thus far, and quite possibly the most memorable thing I've ever seen on any show, ever. Certainly not fun to watch, but "memorable"? Yeah.

.. but the Lucia killing Carl scene. Particularly because of the foreshadowing of her own death.

I'd find it very hard to pick. Certainly the two scenes mentioned above stick in the memory, because they're so upsetting. Same with Larrick's murder of both Lucia and Kate.

I don't find either upsetting - this series is about answering the question 'what are you prepared to do?' and these show us that.

Memorable--well, as others have said, Behind the Red Door. I can't remember anything like that being done on television before, especially with the light lead up and ambiguous, murky fallout. It was just great. It's the perfect example of things just going terribly wrong-which makes me realize that it fits in perfectly with the way the characters are always talking about that type of thing, like the "tingle" they get when it's all about to "go bad." They use that phrase to cover all sorts of things, and this definitely counts.

Though I always hold the two conversations about P&E's past in my heart too-every word seems important. I mean the one about the icicles and the interrupted conversation about Elizabeth's mother's diphtheria and the gangs in Tobolsk. Those are probably also "favorite" for me, but they're also intensely memorable.

Also poor Anton on that boat, especially since in that episode we didn't know if he would just disappear after that.

Hmm the one that jumped instantly to mind as I saw this question was the bible scene with Philip and Paige in Martial Eagle. I think it stands out in my memory because of just how explosive and relatable it was.

My favourite scene and definitely the most thought-provoking and well-executed was as everyone is saying, the BTRD scene. I truly cannot think of any other show that would touch that kind of subject matter with a ten foot pole.

Just out of curiosity, because I don't feel like digging through the archives right now, do any of you remember off the top of your head, what the consensus was for most memorable scene of season 1 (if that was one of the q's of the week)? I feel like the one that jumps instantly to my mind is the 'come home' scene.

The role play scene was the most memorable scene for me. I thought it might be very difficult for the actors but Matthew mentions the scene with Paige and the bible among with the scene confronting the pastor as the most difficult for him. Keri suggests BTRD is one of her favorite episodes.

The role play scene in Behind the Red Door as well as several other scenes from that ep like them in their bedroom early on, them washing dishes as a couple, them flirting, are all very memorable and among my favorites. Among my other favorites will always be the smaller moments. Philip's memory of icicles as a boy, Tobolsk, little reaches for a hand, "they'll smell it" and other intimacies that come in a long, comfortable relationship. If I could only have one favorite it might even be Philip the little spoon.
