I really love Paige's POV here. Her having the recurring dream, deep inside she knows something's wrong, but she can't put her finger on it. And the worst part of it is that she feels she really can't talk to her parents - about what she feels is wrong, and about her own experience when she tried to get a ride.

Word to all this! I really liked the look at Paige's actions and thoughts. The literary present tense also adds a sense of urgency and tension to what she's doing and thinking.

That is the worst part. She's right to sense the wrongness about her family, especially her parents: there's a hollow core to them, a falseness that gets reflected in her dreams, even though she doesn't know why. She can't feel their support or turn to them because their true selves aren't really there. The lies extend into everything.
