With 1982 drawing near, what do you think our chars' New Year's resolutions would be?

I get the impression that New Years Resolutions are done differently in Russia if they are at all, so I hope someone who knows something about that comments! And I feel like the KGB life probably wouldn't lend itself to thinking in new year resolutions anyway.

I feel sad about the Beemans' possible resolutions, because I suspect they would both (whether explicitly or not) resolve to work on the relationship and I really think they're doomed as a couple. But not as sad as I feel for Martha, who I adore and is ENTIRELY, I think, a New Years Resolution person. She probably has "lose five pounds" on her list every year like clockwork.

(I really want to give Martha a hug, and if she were not fictional I might have made it a resolution. :) )

Ooh, thankyou, I thought I'd heard something like that but wasn't wanting to shove my non-expert knowledge in when it might be wrong!

The more I think about Martha the more she breaks my heart. She would SO be looking forward to the new year as the time when everything would come right! And it's going to be awful! And that's the BEST possibility for her! Gah!

This is a hard one!

Elizabeth - Remember (or figure out) who my friends are and who the enemy is. Also keep children completely protected from my job.

Philip - Don't blow it with Elizabeth.

Paige - Figure out wtf is up with my parents.

Henry - Keep mom and dad together.

Stan - Save Nina. No, make things right with Sandra. No, be a better father to...Oh hell, CATCH THAT RUSSIAN COUPLE!

Sandra - Decide what's best for me and Matthew and do it, even if it means leaving Stan.

Matthew - Touch a girl's breast. This is the year!

Nina - Get something good out of Stan.

Claudia - Make the Jennings ashamed of not appreciating her.

Martha--Be patient with Clark's very important job and happy with the limited time we have together!

Arkady - Don't get fooled again.

And lol at Matthew's thoughts. Paige's secondary NYR might be "kiss a boy", so if Matthew can get his head out of his ass he'd not go far wrong on the kiss a girl front too. :P
