Movieweb is reporting that the release date for the region one (North America) DVD and Blu-Ray sets for The Americans season one is January 14th. The set will include the mini-documentaries "Executive Order 2579: Exposing the Americans", "Perfecting the Art of Espionage", and "Ingenuity Over Technology", plus a gag reel, deleted scenes, trailers, and audio commentary on the season finale featuring Joe Weisberg, Joel Fields, and Noah Emmerich.

(Pardon me while I stick my fist in the air and say "yes!")

And here's another not-particularly-spoilery photo taken during shooting.

I'm happy. I wish it were sooner but I'll take it.

Super cool! Now I know what I'll be doing that evening...

Not sure if this was already mentioned last week, but Joel Fields tweeted another picture of one of the sets:

My guess is that it's someone with a Russian connection... or maybe something in a flashback? He said there's "A chance it (the pottery) might get smashed by season's end."

They also said they finished filming episode three and the title is "The Walk In." Ideas? Someone who walks in to either the FBI or Russian embassy and offers information? Someone who walks in to one of the marriages? I'm curious but failing with ideas...

(Tries to work up courage to eventually make first post... hides in the shadows of "reply"...)

I LOVE these little tidbits from Joel Fields. It's not like they're giving away some huge spoiler that will ruin it, but it's just enough to get the brain turning and the curiosity piqued.

On the pottery, it just looks so rustic, which could be partially because it's 70's but then even like in Martha's apartment there is "modern" 70's/80's stuff and at Sandra/Stan's too. It also gives me the impression that it's a place that doesn't have a lot of "stuff" sitting around. Maybe this is where they start digging more into the Russian embassy side of things? The art in P/E's house doesn't look particularly like that either and their house seems more cluttered in its decoration, which happens when you live in a house long-term and have kids. I'm wondering if it's like Nina's or Claudia's or maybe a new character's.

Yup, no hyphen. Good point about how that could change the meaning.

Not sure how old this interview with Keri is, but I just saw it today and it seems to have (in addition to great pictures... Keri is SO gorgeous!) a few potentially spoilery tidbits, so maybe recent?

And like a good asset, Russell will only divulge that the upcoming season is very focused on “family.” Paige, the Jennings’s teenage daughter, starts to ask her parents pointed questions. Russell embellishes: “Questions from her daughter, Paige, make Elizabeth start to think about the safety of her family and whether she can stay pure to the [KGB] cause. It gets very, very complicated.”

After I pump Weisberg for information, he will only say, “In the second season, all the forces that push her political consciousness into conflict with her responsibilities to her family and her love for her children are going to become more intense. It’s not going to be easy for her.”

These two little tidbits sound great! I'd completely love it if they started turning up the pressure more in this direction. I also love the idea of it being Paige that turns up the pressure more, rather than Philip, because I think that has the potential to really dig at her in a way that she can't turn on him or skate around as easily. Paige is really an innocent in the whole thing in a way that makes it harder not to consider what she's saying, if that makes any sense.

Cool! There was also a tweet from one of the writers (I guess yesterday) that the episode they just started shooting is entirely in Russian except for one scene. That could be interesting. I'm kind of guessing it's heavily focused on the embassy end of the picture, but I can hold out in my heart that maybe we get a Philip-flashback. I'd REALLY love to see P/E talking in Russian, but then I'm having trouble coming up with a scenario why that would be necessary in the present day, so won't get my hopes up :(... too much ;)

Yes! It was from Angelina Burnett, one of the writers. Not sure how to do links...

"First full day of shooting on my episode. All but one scene is in Russian. This should be interesting. #TheAmericans"

She also tweeted today about a scene with Martha in it, so I'm guessing that's the English-speaking scene?
