Movieweb is reporting that the release date for the region one (North America) DVD and Blu-Ray sets for The Americans season one is January 14th. The set will include the mini-documentaries "Executive Order 2579: Exposing the Americans", "Perfecting the Art of Espionage", and "Ingenuity Over Technology", plus a gag reel, deleted scenes, trailers, and audio commentary on the season finale featuring Joe Weisberg, Joel Fields, and Noah Emmerich.
(Pardon me while I stick my fist in the air and say "yes!")
And here's another not-particularly-spoilery photo taken during shooting.

Date: 2013-11-12 01:27 am (UTC)Not sure if this was already mentioned last week, but Joel Fields tweeted another picture of one of the sets:

My guess is that it's someone with a Russian connection... or maybe something in a flashback? He said there's "A chance it (the pottery) might get smashed by season's end."
They also said they finished filming episode three and the title is "The Walk In." Ideas? Someone who walks in to either the FBI or Russian embassy and offers information? Someone who walks in to one of the marriages? I'm curious but failing with ideas...

Date: 2013-11-12 02:11 pm (UTC)Joel Fields really is very good at posting tiny little tidbits like that, which don't actually give anything away but are still fun to think about.
I got nothing on "The Walk In." It's really just like that, without a hyphen? That suggests that it's a walk inside rather than someone who walks in.

Date: 2013-11-12 10:31 pm (UTC)I LOVE these little tidbits from Joel Fields. It's not like they're giving away some huge spoiler that will ruin it, but it's just enough to get the brain turning and the curiosity piqued.
On the pottery, it just looks so rustic, which could be partially because it's 70's but then even like in Martha's apartment there is "modern" 70's/80's stuff and at Sandra/Stan's too. It also gives me the impression that it's a place that doesn't have a lot of "stuff" sitting around. Maybe this is where they start digging more into the Russian embassy side of things? The art in P/E's house doesn't look particularly like that either and their house seems more cluttered in its decoration, which happens when you live in a house long-term and have kids. I'm wondering if it's like Nina's or Claudia's or maybe a new character's.
Yup, no hyphen. Good point about how that could change the meaning.

These two little tidbits sound great! I'd completely love it if they started turning up the pressure more in this direction. I also love the idea of it being Paige that turns up the pressure more, rather than Philip, because I think that has the potential to really dig at her in a way that she can't turn on him or skate around as easily. Paige is really an innocent in the whole thing in a way that makes it harder not to consider what she's saying, if that makes any sense.

She also tweeted today about a scene with Martha in it, so I'm guessing that's the English-speaking scene?
