I'd be really disappointed if she's not after him for something. She acting too weird, and it's not just conditioning.

Though regardless of whether she's a spy, I didn't get this new idea to get into the FBI.

If Renee turns out to be a US-based agent of some kind, when she asked him to break the rules to get her into the FBI, she may merely have been testing him for signs of corruption.

It's odd, though. I hope the show provides a decent explanation for her behavior and role on the show.

I think they'd be stretching believability beyond the breaking point to suggest that a US spy agency made a woman marry an FBI agent to test him for corruption.

If it's something like the CIA checking into him for possible corruption - that's a pretty thin charge to try and hang onto Stan, but then again they did bust Al Capone for tax evasion.

Maybe Proxy Snyder Agent Wolfe or his boss got tired of Stan's antics and started digging into the Nina thing. If so they might've realized there was more going on than in Stan's official reports, and decided to proceed with a way to charge him for treason; when they couldn't make that stick, they decided to liaison with the CIA to see if they could dig anything up outside of the country that could tie into Stan's possible charge.

I admit, it's pretty thin. :\
