Season two casting news

The producers of "The Americans" have promoted Annet Mahendru (Nina) and Alison Wright (Martha) to series regulars for next year!

I'm not surprised, exactly, but I am a little relieved (and pleased).

Not to spoil the relief - but Amador was also a regular.. :-) I don't know if they'll do anything similar to us again, but the options are open.

I found this interview with Maximiliano Hernández, and he has quite interesting comments about Nina and Martha (it's towards the end).

Yes, but they probably wouldn't make somebody a regular if they were just going to kill him/her off, right? Oh, who am I kidding, that's wishful thinking, isn't it?

That's kinda awesome they're making Nina in particular a series regular :D

As for Martha? Hmmmmmm. Sounds like they're planning to draw out the false marriage angle for at least a good chunk of the season. I can only imagine the utter horror she's gonna feel when she discovers who her "husband" is. :O
