I get that, but it's still odd not to mention what was one of the big cold war incidents. Especially as Oleg has no problem talking about Petrov, why wouldn't he talk about the Soviets downing a commercial airliner? With a US congressman on board?

Perhaps when one of the reports comes out in a month or so from this point?

It could still come up at any time, I guess. For instance, if there's a conversation about what P&E are or are not capable of with Paige, she might bring that up.

Oleg just discovered it, so it made sense to discuss it.

The Korean airliner was shot down on Sept 1st. "The Day After" was broadcast on November 20. So it happened during the time jump, and we're now almost three months after the fact.
