It was such a smart move on the show's part to give us the Rezidentura characters, instead of relying solely on our Illegals to represent the Russians. It adds layers, and different viewpoints that are neither identical with our main characters nor with Stan & Co. Not to mention that it ensures the Soviet Union doesn't come across as a monolithic block in which everyone thinks the same.

re: Oleg, I wonder whether he'll also be the first to hear about Gorbachev as an up and coming man? It would fit, and would be a good counterpoint to Arkady having been the first to mention Andropov.
