*gigglesnorts* You have to admit, the juxtaposition there is kind of ironically humorous, seeing as that experience with Elizabeth should be proof enough to Philip that Soviets can and do inform on one another.
I think "Russkie" was appropriated in American slang as a slur, but I do seem to recall that in Russian, the word "Russki" (transliterated, obviously, from Cyrillic) is a neutral word that can mean something Russian.
