Thoughts about Philip inspired by Q #57

It occurred to me in talking about Martha and her acceptance of all weird things Clark step by step to think about something about Philip. Often I think it's tempting to see him as the person just trapped in his job since he's often so miserable about things he has to do and also Elizabeth makes everybody look like a dilettante because she's so committed (and so seems to see so many as dilettantes!).

But I think that leaves out a lot of moments where Philip is very much into his job.
