re: Gabriel, I meant I got accidentally spoiled for the character showing up in season 3., not for his existence. Of course they mention him in the first few eps of season 1.

re: Afghanistan, I had the impression they were going for this in the s2 opening scene with Philip and the Afghans, too, but here the massage really was blatant, given they chose an execution video.
