I love thatw ay of putting it! It's got a real respect for the idea of being a true believer: that they really and truly think their casuse is worth something. It was lovely to see that bringing Elizabeth and Lucia a connection. They're on the same team, and it must have meant a lot to both of them to have a reminder that it is a team, not just them as isolated individuals. That's not a perspective on Communism we get, generally speaking!
